FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions
CLIENT’S QUESTIONS ANSWERED:

When is the best age to photography my newborn baby?

The best age is between 5 and 10 days old. Newborn babies during this age are less disturbed whilst sleeping, and after two weeks baby ‘acne’ and colic tend to flare up after this time.

Do you photograph any other babies at different ages?

I do! My reasons for photographing newborn babies under 2 weeks old enables me to obtain the most effective poses that clients have seen in my portfolio, at this early age they are still very curly and sleepy. I do photograph babies at 6-9 months old, when they are starting to sit up, have interaction, and their personality is really coming through, and I also photograph babies/toddlers from 12-18 months and older where they are most active, but this takes on a more photojournalistic element in photos, which shows their lively personalities!

Do you hold all your photosessions in your studio?

I do love to shoot out on location whenever possible, so the sessions can be varied, but the weather normally is a factor, so the studio is a perfect base! I photograph in natural light, in certain circumstances I will hold sessions with studio lighting. My studio also consists of various props and it’s very quiet to enable clients and their children/babies to feel relaxed and comfortable.

What is the dress code for photosessions?

Keep it simple! For children especially, no logos and avoid all white. Layered coloured clothing works great, patterns with colours and bare feet! Newborns look just adorable as they are in their birthday suits, but I normally cover the nappy with a diaper cover for a better effect, or keep them in a short-sleeved plain coloured babygro if you have one. For adults, whichever is comfortable, avoid clashing colours or patterned clothing, jeans and plain tops are best. For Babybump sessions, again comfort is the key! Avoid patterned clothing, but make sure its close-fitting, the aim of the photosession is to capture that all important bump!

I really enjoyed the photosession, I’m so excited to see the photographs! When will I get to see them?

Normal process for portrait work is 10-14 days, you will receive your own unique password to your client gallery to view the photographs. After 14 days the gallery will expire, so ensure that you have purchased your selection of photographs before the expiration date, if you need extra time in which to make your decisions, an additional charge will be incurred for your gallery to be extended.

We have placed an order for our photographs! When can I expect to receive them?

Once print payment is made in full through the proofing gallery, your selection will be processed through the online cart, where you can make immediate payment through checkout. (Please note: orders will not be placed until payment is made in full). I ask that you allow upto 4 weeks for your prints, especially any bespoke orders such as large prints, canvasses or photobooks or blocks.

Do you offer Gift Certifcates?

Yes, I do. I have clients in the past who have bought gift certificates for relatives or parents birthdays, anniversaries, even for a Christmas present. Also partners who have bought their wives/partners a ‘bump to baby’ package, which I think is a nice idea for expectant mother’s-to-be. Purchasers will receive a certificate with the receipients name, information will also be sent with the certificate. Please note: gift certificates will be valid for six months from the date of issue, please book early to ensure a date is available.

What payment methods do you accept?

I accept cheques, postal orders or payment via Paypal. All bookings for your photosession will not be confirmed until your booking payment is made in full, to be sent at least 7 working days prior to your photosession.
